Refuge: For Women and Children against Domestic Violence

Refuge: For Women and Children against Domestic Violence

No-one deserves to live in fear or feel trapped in their situation. There was a point in my life, where I was in a domestically violent situation and have encountered several other situations where I did not feel safe. Fortunately for me, I am the type of person who will not tolerate any form of abuse and quickly found a way out of my personal situation. However, many women and men, are unsure of how to escape their current circumstances and do feel trapped. Many of which, don't even understand or believe they are in an abusive situation. Protecting families from being completely shattered by domestic abuse is another matter close to my heart and supporting refuge has never not been an option for me. I personally do my utmost as and when I can to ensure I can help those who really need it, be it by signing petitions, writing letters to local MP's or just listening to those close to me and offering support or a place to stay if needed. I have included a brief description of the work Refuge do below.

'At Refuge, we believe that no-one should have to live in fear of violence and abuse. On any given day Refuge supports more than 6,000 clients, helping them rebuild their lives and overcome many different forms of violence and abuse; for example domestic violence, sexual violence, so-called ‘honour’-based violence, human trafficking and modern slavery, and female genital mutilation.'
